A Celebration to Remember: Al-Areeb Welcomes Back Its ICT Champions

Monday, 5th May 2025, was not just another school day at Al-Areeb School Kaduna—it was a day filled with joy, pride, and heartfelt celebration. Our school family came together to give a grand welcome to the young stars who made us proud by winning the North West Regional Round of the National Girls in ICT Competition.

From the moment the morning adhkar was recited and the national and school anthems echoed through the air, you could feel something special. This was more than an event—it was a moment that reminded us all of what’s possible when young girls are empowered to dream big and build boldly.

Our Champions, Our Pride

The ceremony began with a warm welcome address by our ever-supportive Head of Secondary Section, setting the tone for a morning filled with inspiration. Then came the moment everyone was waiting for, the official introduction of our ICT Champions and their groundbreaking project, TE-TECH: a digital innovation designed to transform how teachers are evaluated in schools.

As the learners walked in, beaming with pride, they were met with standing ovations, nasheeds and proud smiles from their peers, teachers, and guests.

One of the day’s most powerful moments was when Halira Gada, a learner, stood tall and delivered a heartfelt speech on “Celebrating the Power of Girls in ICT.” Her words carried strength, passion, and a clear message, girls belong in tech, and they are here to lead.

Each of the winning girls shared a short reflection on their journey—what inspired them, how they worked as a team, and what they learned along the way. Their voices were full of excitement, confidence, and hope. You could feel the spark they had ignited in the room.

A Message from Our Leadership

Our School Director followed with an inspiring speech, congratulating the learners and reaffirming Al-Areeb’s commitment to girl-child education and digital skills development. She reminded us that success like this doesn’t happen by accident, it grows in environments that nurture, support, and believe in every learner’s potential.

Shortly after, the Board of Directors stepped forward to present certificates and awards to the girls, recognizing their hard work, resilience, and innovation. The room was full of smiles, cheers, and even a few happy tears.

Learner Fatima Adamu Umar closed the student speeches with a touching talk on “Inspiring the Next Generation of ICT Champions,” encouraging everyone to believe in their ideas and never be afraid to try something new.

After a beautiful group photo with our champions and special guests—including the Special Adviser to the Kaduna State Governor, who honored us with his presence, the event ended with warm closing remarks and grateful hearts.

Dear Amina Ahmad Musa, I have watched you grow into a capable, confident learner and your recent achievement ia a beautiful reward for your efforts. Your determination in ICT inspire all of us. Never stop learning, you are destined for greatness, Proudly,
